THE EEEEEEEEYE!

Alright, Leo is having lunch right now so I finally have a moment to post on here. Yesterday was a crazy day and I'm not sure today won't be less crazy but we'll see about that.

I had to work yesterday, and as usual I was dreading it. However I was on time as always, I'm hoping if I keep a good schedule I could get a 'raise' and not work as much to get the roof fixed.  Though yesterday's work was truly terrifying for me to do. I believe I mentioned it before, but I am really use to non-human creatures because of where I grew up on Earth. After all my mom is half dragon! Though its not what you think a big fiery scary dragon, she can't transform like that instead she can have dragon wings and talons on her hands. Her half sister though can transform into a full dragon, though I never seen her do that. Truthfully I think I should have asked her to do that sometime, because what I saw yesterday would have been easier to deal with. When the repairman and I walked up to the door I wasn't expecting anything out of the ordinary, I had seen a lot of the same kinds of people werewolves, ghosts etc during the other trips to houses. However I think the repairman took enjoyment out of making me knock on the door, knowing I probably wouldn't expect what I saw. The door opened up and instead of a person standing there, all I saw was an eye. A very very very big bright yellow with a red iris eye! I think I actually squeaked as I backed up almost falling off the  porch in the process, trying to ignore the repairman's joyous laughter at my fright. You know I really don't like my boss, he's becoming a real asshole but I guess that's what bosses do..anyway back to the eye..The eye seemed to look bewildered as it stared at me, just a bit of red scaly skin could be seen around it along with a claw carefully moving away.

"Clark? Who is this girl and why is she squeaking like a mouse?" the eye said, well okay it wasn't really the eye but I saw no mouth so at first I thought it was the eye.

"My new assistant, she's new to the planet and her house got damaged in a storm so she's working for me. Guess she never saw a dragon before." the repairman kept laughing all throughout his explanation, ignoring the fact I was glaring at him for laughing. Though a second later I paused in my freaking out to take into account what he had said. He had said a dragon! Like my family dragons! I just wanted to cling to the drag now even though I couldn't at the moment, I had never felt more at home then I did now and I just wish my husband and son had been there to feel it too. I think though that my boss was starting to see my longing to talk to the eye, so after finding out the dragon had transformed to keep his roof up, he had me stayed down on the porch to talk to him. My job then was to make sure nothing was hurting the dragon as my boss worked, but I think it was one of his semi-nice moments where he let me do what I want to. Which was to have a piece of home..So I spent most of the time on the porch just talking and finding out about him, it wasn't long into the conversation that he was asking why my tone ha changed. I couldn't explain everything to him of course but I did tell him that my adopted mother was a half dragon and my aunt a full dragon, and that I missed them very much and it was nice to feel a bit more of home on that planet. It took most of the day to fix that roof, but evidently the repairman has superspeed as well so I think that helped move things along as well. When he was done with the roof, the eyeball suddenly disappeared though, I almost pouted at that because I wanted to keep talking. However a moment later a young man, in his mid twenties walked out with a piece of paper with his number on it. He gave me a hug and the number telling me that I should bring my family over sometime and we could have dinner or something.

On the way back I couldn't figure out my boss really, he seemed upset but I don't know why. He just kept staring out the windshield, not saying a word to me as he drove back to his office. Actually the only thing he said when we got back was 'you can go home, come back in a couple days' and went back into his office. Not that I'm not happy to have days off, but his actions were really confusing me. I mean I don't like the man, I really don't considering he refused to have my husband helped when I can't do half the things my husband can, but still he is a person and I worry about how people are feeling and such.  When I got home I told Ellis about it all and we even told Leo about the dragon I met, I think we are going to have dinner at his house sometime this upcoming weekend.

Anyway I think Leo wants to go back outside to play with Gracie, so I gotta go and sit outside to watch him play. I don't know why he has to go outside to play with his imaginary friend, I guess he just doesn't want to bring her in the house because 'horsies don't belong in the housie' as he said at one point. Remember, if you have questions or want to keep up with me go to my facebook page http://www.facebook.com/AStrangeWorldOfPurple . Oh man

The last few days have been a nightmare, that is all there is to it. Between having work and watching Leo while Ellis looks for a job, I'm lucky to know if I should be awake or asleep. Right now I know I'm suppose to be asleep, but I just can't sleep so I snuck away to do a blog real quick.

Ellis has been searching for a job like I said, but things aren't going well so far with that. I agree with him on the fact there are some discrimination laws on this planet when it comes to human. However what I don't understand is why he is putting that he's human in the first place. I mean I know that's what he was born as, but things have changed now and he should acknowledge that. It could help get a job if people knew what he was, though I think he's scared of telling people what he really is. After all, back home he would have to be hiding what he is from everyone but his family and things would be so much harder on him. As much as we are missing our home, sometimes I wonder if we should ever really go back to it. We would all have to be in hiding, not admitting who we are and I'm not sure Leo could go back to doing that. Maybe when things get settled down and we can go back home, we could do a split home so we could go see our parents but still live here. I don't know, I'm not fully sure of that kind of plan yet. Its just something that will have to be discussed with time really, things will change over the months and possible years that we live on this planet.

You know yesterday I came home from work and didn't even spend time with Leo. Of course I was almost a royal blue when I got home, but still I feel bad about it. As soon as I got out of my third shower I was snugging with Leo on the couch, hearing all about his day that day. He also kept mentioning that I was still blue and saying he was sorry about that, I don't know why he was apologizing about it after all its not his fault. I think though it comes from what he was telling me about Gracie. He was telling me how he had been playing with her that day, and had told her how he missed me and wanted me home. Evidently he thinks the rain that started shortly after that was his fault, that Gracie had started the rain for him. He's such a sweet little boy, it took a lot of convincing that it was okay and it wasn't his fault it had rained. Even then I added on that the rain did bring me home earlier then I was suppose to get home, which just cheered him up about it. I think he was sorry bout making me blue in his mind, but he was also hoping his little 'trick' of having Gracie make it rain really worked. I love how he can be so sweet and loving yet mischievous at the same time, it just makes him so very adorable and causes some rather interesting situations.

Oh! I forgot to tell you what happened today! I actually got a package in the mail, it wasn't from my family of course because they can't contact us here. However it was from one of my readers who had contacted me about making a plushie of me. She made it and mailed it out to me, it is absolutely adorable!

I love her so much and I definitely want to thank Samantha for such a cute plushie. You should totally check out her store, I have it linked in my sidebar! I'm not sure where I will put it yet, I have to make sure to keep it away from the kitties as they keep trying to eat the feathered wings she has on the plushie.  Also you know, if you make something and have a shop contact me and I'll try to help you out kay? I want to help all my readers out even if its free advertising!

Anyway I should get to bed, I hear Ellis moving around upstairs so he no doubt knows where I am.

Woah

You know since we met the repairman, who does more then just roofs, I've been wondering what kind of creature he actually was. I mean we don't really have humans here, so I knew he couldn't be that but he didn't look like any stereotypical creature. Today however I found out what he was, well I sorta did anyway.

When I walked into the work he was walking out on a call, so instead of desk work which I was hoping to do today I was getting dragged out. I'm still trying to figure out why he wants me helping but he does..Anyway when we got out to the house it turned out to be a roof  problem, so I figured he was going to get his ladder out. However he didn't get that out, instead he just walked around to where the problem was. Within seconds he was raising into the air, flying on his own up to the rooftop! Truth be told it kind of reminds me of the super heroes back home, I've noticed that he's had exceptional strength as well which makes me wonder more why he wants me to help..Anyway once he figured out what the problem was he was yelling down to me tools to grab, which was a bit annoying since he knows I have problems lifting some of the tools. After he got all of his tools up to the roof from me, he did do something rather unexpected though. He scooped me up in his arms and flew up there with me! I really didn't want to be up there at all, I'm not afraid of heights but when there is no ladder its a bit frightening. Plus its not like this is my husband, this is not a man I  would trust to catch me if I fell..Luckily though as you can see I didn't fall from the roof and was able to hand him all the tools he wanted. That alone is an annoying task between trying to remember what things are and him grabbing the tools almost on top of my hands so its hard to let go of them. I swear he need's to learn some things about me instead of assuming I'm okay with this stuff. Oh well nothing bad has happened yet, I think he's just use to working with different people or even maybe people on this planet are use to people taking things like that. You know now that I think about it maybe that's it, things are different here so maybe people just naturally grab items from people differently. I haven't really had people take things from me yet so I have no reference beyond this, guess I'll just have to find a way to test the theory..

Anyway I should get going its late and I'm hungry, time to have a cookie snack. We made a rule of no sweets for Leo late at night..but he's in bed so I don't gotta follow that rule hehe.

Relaxing

I was right luckily, I didn't have to work today. However there was things to talk to Ellis about, he had to go out and feed. Lucky for him there are ways for him to do it without there being a problem, though you know I always offer myself..he just doesn't take the offer usually, I think he'll be better about it when he's use to his new life style.

Anyway since he had to go out to feed today, I spent most of the day alone with Leo. Not that Leo minded, he was clinging to me as soon as I was up. I think he was afraid I was going to go out to work again, I hate being away from him during the day for work..maybe I can do extra work to get our share of the roof done quicker. Leo had always hated when I went to school back home, I can't imagine how he's seeing this when his daddy never comes with me. You would think he'd be happy to have his daddy home, but truthfully I think he's more worried bout me being alone. As soon as I got home last night he was asking if mommy was okay, he's such a sweet little boy.

I was really tired today though, and that was proven while Leo was outside playing. I was relaxing in a lawn chair while he ran around talking to Gracie today, saying how glad he was that she was okay. Its really sweet how worried he was about his imaginary friend, he see's it as a real friend...However while he was playing I could have swore for a split second I actually saw a horse running around with him. I know that's not possible though it was gone a second later, and I didn't see it again after that. I think my lack of sleep the night before has got me seeing things, Gracie couldn't be real..right?

Well I'm going to go to bed now..I'm suppose to work tomorrow, not looking forward to it.

Repairs Repairs and More Repairs

Alright so we found out that the storm did a lot more damage then we thought it had. Ellis and I went outside to check things and found half our roof was missing. My only question with this is how are we going to pay for it?! I'm still not sure how we are, but we'll find a way.

Truth is we need jobs, but we don't want to be away from Leo..plus I really don't want to work anyway though that is just me being lazy. However, I have picked up a small time job doing what? Repairs. Yeah, I know its a bit odd considering I'm new to the planet, however I'm helping the repairman who is doing our roof do other work. Basically I'm working for free but its paying for most of the repairs on our roof, so it all works out in the end. I know what you are thinking, Ellis should be the one doing this, thing is he tried to get the job but the repairman wanted me.  I don't know why, I thought maybe it was because of my wings so I told him I couldn't fly, but he still just insisted on me.

So today was my first day of work, and I already hate it. I had to follow the guy around all different parts of another storm attacked house, handing him tools randomly. Lucky for me though he was patient and explained things to me, since these are new tools to me after all. I don't know how many days of this I can take though, repair work is such a boring thing to watch especially when you don't know whose doing it! Luckily I don't think I work tomorrow, which means I get to spend more time with my family. For now I think I'm just going to collapse on the couch..

POWER!

We have power! Finally! Yesterday we had a major rainbow storm roll in early in the morning. Actually early enough that thunder woke all of us, well woke Leo and he woke us up. Thunder here is a lot like back home, though that doesn't stop it from being scary to Leo. He ran into our room early in the morning trying to cling to us, my poor little boy. I tried to explain to him a way it wouldn't sound scary, but he wasn't listening to a word I said so I gave up after a few moments. I had to change my approach with things, but right now I just wanted to hold and comfort my little boy.

It wasn't long after that, that Leo freaked out even more though with good reason. The storm knocked out our power, and with it being a new house being stuck in the pitch black bedroom was a bit frightening. My cellphone was dead sadly, I forgot to charge it the night before, but Ellis's had a small charge so we had a temporary flashlight to use. After much stumbling around, Ellis and I were dressed and carrying Leo downstairs carefully.  We were lucky though, we had thought to get some candles last time we went to the store so we had light...sorta..We just didn't take into account how many candles that house would really need to light it up well enough to see the room we were in.

After a couple of hours Leo was starting to freak out again though. He kept saying 'what about Gracie?' to us, and was wanting to go outside to get her. It took quite a few tries but  I think we got him convinced that Gracie would have found a safe place to be outside and that going outside right now wouldn't be a good idea.  Either we convinced him or he just gave up on trying to go outside, with him being scared of the storm its hard to tell which it really was. I think though Damien coming up to the main floor helped things, Leo was delighted to see him somewhere beside the basement. Luckily with the storm knocking out the power, Damien grew braver and came upstairs to check on us. He knew it was our first storm here and wasn't sure if we had storms like this back home, so he wanted to make sure we were doing okay with it all. Leo was instantly clinging to him though begging for him to stay upstairs with us.

The rest of the day was spent telling stories and playing games by candle light with Damien. We had to have peanut butter sandwiches for lunch and dinner, the power never coming up and us not wanting to open the fridge often. We didn't get power back till a couple hours ago, which we spent  moving some things around in the house to make it easier the next time the power goes out. I'm not sure what we are doing today though, I think we might be going out and cleaning up what the storm did along with getting more things to get us through power outtages. According to Damien storms that bad are common, so we may be losing a power a lot I'm not sure. I'll probably write again tonight, but if I don't I'll update you on what happened tomorrow.

Gonna Kick His Butt!

I came down from giving Leo a bath to grab a quick snack and guess what I saw? Ellis on the computer! Bad Ellis! Okay not really bad, I understand and did the same thing..but still I want him to be better and to do that he has to rest...

Today was uneventful of course, I was watching over Ellis and Leo was playing with his imaginary pony friend again. Once again I couldn't get him to tell me anything about the pony though I kept hearing 'can I ride you' while he was in the backyard, I really hope he doesn't try if he thinks the pony is real...he could seriously get hurt if he found a way to try to get up...

Anyway I really have nothing to say tonight. All I know is I want to go to bed and snuggle with my husband, its been such a long day and I just want to be with him..

Again?

Oh man, today wasn't the best day for sure..Leo was alright, he was happy and well rested so was I. The problem was, it was Ellis's turn to be sick! I was hoping his new qualities would keep him from getting sick but I guess there is only so much changes in DNA can do.

Today I had to make Ellis stay in bed, and you know that can be really hard! He kept wandering out like I did and I kept sending him back to bed, spending as much time with him as I could without leaving Leo alone too long.

At one point today something rather interesting happened though. While I was making lunch in the kitchen, Leo was in the backyard playing. I could see him through the kitchen window so I was able to keep an eye on him, plus the doors and windows were open so I could easily call to him. That's not the interesting part though, the interesting part is when Leo began talking to thin air. I had never seen Leo invent an imaginary friend, he hadn't had a need to back home, but now it seems here he does. He has his pets, his little kitty Sweet Pea who is always following him around and our two tigers even..but still he's a lonely boy, and I hate seeing him so lonely. He spent most of his time outside playing with his imaginary friend, 'Gracie', though I found it a bit odd watching him play. His friend wasn't a human creature at all from what I could see, it kinda seemed like it was a horse really. I've never known Leo to like horses, but maybe he's hitting that usual phase of 'I want a pony!'. I'm not sure though, when he came in to help me take things up to his daddy I tried to ask about Gracie, but he kept going on about things he wanted to do for daddy.

The rest of the day was relatively uneventful, more fighting to get Ellis to stay in bed and trying to keep Leo entertained. I never did get a chance to ask about Gracie, maybe tomorrow I'll be able to ask him.

So tired..

Oh man, the last two days have been so exhausting. Yesterday Leo was sick, and like with all kids he didn't want mommy or daddy to be away from him at all. It was hard to get anything done yesterday while we took care of him, but that's okay. I understand how he felt, its hard to be away from mommy when you're sick even if you're an adult. While I was sick I missed my mom and dad so much, I still do but we'll see them again eventually...

Anyway I fell asleep yesterday with Leo, sorry I didn't make it to the blog but my child does come first of course. Today luckily he was no longer sick, however we didn't want him to falling ill again so we had to keep him from doing too much today. Not that that was an easy task! He was happy and hyper trying to run all over the house. Its hard to think of things to keep him busy so he doesn't wear himself out quickly.

I decided today to spoil him a bit though, I got him ice cream after lunch. I know it wasn't the best idea in the world, but he was getting bummed out from us telling him no to all his requests so I just had to help him feel better some way. Luckily though he didn't get too hyper from the ice cream some how, instead he settled down and begged to watch the 'magic hair' show Ellis and I grew up with. The rest of the day was spent in peace for the most part, got even more pictures for our fridge. I'll have to take a picture of part of it sometime so I can show you my little artist's work!

Anyway I'm going to try go to bed now, I'm so tired from the last couple days. Tomorrow we're planning on seeing Bobby so I'll probably have more to tell you guys.

Love Filled Day!

Ellis is the most wonderful husband in the world, end of story. Today he came up to me with a present, a beautiful present in fact. It was a beautiful heart necklace, I can't take it off and I don't think I ever want to. I don't know why this one means so much to me, all his gifts are amazing and wonderful..but this one...Well maybe its because it was the first gift on this planet, making it mean even more. Its proof that things are different but not completely, we still have our love  and he's still an amazing and wonderful man. Not that I ever doubted he was, I always knew it, but it is nice to get reminders of it at times.

Anyway, perhaps I should stop raving about him after all that's not what you come here to read. At least I don't think it is, and truthfully I could go on and on..but it would get a bit sappy and very very long. So why don't I tell you about today then? The rain stopped, though there was threat of another storm coming. So instead of hiding inside, Ellis Leo and I took a quick trip out to a store not too far from home. We need umbrellas after all and we can't hide inside every time it rains. Though that is tempting, its just not really fair considering we found out it'll rain a lot during the next few weeks.

You know you would think we'd learn our lesson from the grocery store to not turn our attention away from Leo even if he's right next to us. However, we still didn't remember that lesson and kept him in the cart as we went. We decided to get some extra things while we were there, to make sure we didn't have to run to the store again so quickly. Considering how many baths and showers we had to take yesterday we had to get some soap, shampoo, and most importantly bubble bath. I know Leo mainly likes to just play in it, but its so nice to just go for a nice soak in a warm bubble bath.  While we were searching through the bath soaps and such trying to pick out the best things for us, we didn't realize that Leo was able to reach the toys in the stand next to the cart. By the time we had turned back to the cart he had most of the toys in the cart filling it up! It took quite a bit of work to convince him  that he didn't need all the toys as we put them back. However we had to get him a couple because..well..he's been such a good boy lately, he just has mischievous moments like any kid does.

The rest of the shopping trip we managed to keep items from randomly 'jumping into the cart' as Leo put it though we weren't always successful.  Luckily we didn't see any new kinds of people this time though so Leo didn't have any freak out moments. Though we had to use our new umbrellas to get out at home, however that involved getting them out of the back. So now I look a bit blue...I think I'm going to go try out that new bubble bath we bought today. I rather not be blue, no matter how catchy songs about being blue can be!

Say Wha?

I finally got out of the house today! Finally I am better and can do stuff! I went out to get the newspaper, took two steps back towards the house and then rain began pouring down. Well I'm assuming it was rain, it looked like rain except it was kind of pink. I don't know where the pink comes from, it made no sense considering the water here is the same as on Earth. All I know was it was really really cold and came down really really fast. I had to run back into the house and even in the short thirty seconds it took to do that, I was still soaked to the bone by the time I got in.

When I got up to the bathroom to dry off I noticed something in the mirror, my skin looked pink. IT WAS PINK! I don't know how and I don't know why, but that rain painted me pink! I immediately got in the shower in an attempt to get the pink off, no one was up yet at the time. It took a few showers and a lot of scrubbing, but I was able to get the pink off. However by then Leo was already up, and he had ran out into the rain. Though by the time I got downstairs he was inside, and sobbing his eyes out.  I was able to give him one bath so far, though it hasn't taken all the pink away from his skin. We had to give up for a while he didn't want another bath, I'm hoping we can talk him into another tonight.

We talked to Damian after the bath to find out more about the rain, though what we heard was fascinating yet annoying at the same time. What's going on right now is not a 'rain storm' instead it is what they call a 'rainbow storm' . The color of the rain can be different each time or even shift colors between the rain, they are a bit rare except during this time of year. It sounds like usually rain here is just like on Earth, we just happen to see the Rainbow Storm first.

I can't believe our luck, it just seems incredibly bad when it comes to trying to adjust to this planet.  I'm not really sure what to do anymore, I'm so tired at the moment. I think I'm going to try to get Leo to take another bath now..whether its me giving it to him of Ellis I don't care just as long as it gets done. Oh well, wish me luck I'll definitely need it.

Gonna Go Insane!

I think I'm gonna go insane, I can't stay in this house any longer! Okay I know its only been a couple days but I still want to go do stuff, I know Leo has to be bored of just being around the house.  Or maybe its just me being bored in this house. Its a giant house for us, but I'm stuck resting its not fun!

I know Ellis means well, I love him so much and I'm so glad he's been helping me get better. However it can be a bit annoying at times when he takes responsibility of me like my parents would, though it is something I need I admit it..I'm not the best sick person in the world, I tend to try to do more then I should be doing which just lengthens my downtime. I can't help it though, I'm usually pretty bouncy and just sitting or laying down all day drives me crazy. However I was glad there was no loud bangs today unlike the other day, that means I don't have to clean up messes hopefully. Though I know at one point Leo was drawing, he did a picture of me!

He's still learning how to write but I think his Daddy made sure he could write one of the most important messages he can. I love him so much, and I'm so proud of him, he's an amazing little boy who never stops amazing me.

Anyway I should get going, I'm going to give Leo his bath today..As amusing as Ellis looks when he's drenched I probably should do it tonight, after all he's done for me the last couple days.

Why?

That's all I can ask right now is WHY!? I love my husband, I do with all my heart, he is the sweetest man I have ever met and nothing could ever make me stop loving him. But WHY did he give Leo ice cream last night before bed? Well  I should say before when it SHOULD be bed time. He was up and running around for a couple more hours last night, and was being a monster making a mess that I could see this time. You see Ellis evidently was downstairs cleaning up the mess I found out about through his blog, but I was upstairs trying to chase down Leo and keep him calm as I could.  Not that that worked at all, he was going crazy at the time. After a few hours of chasing him around I finally got him back in bed though worn out from his activities.

However it seems that running around wasn't really a good idea for me, I woke up not feeling well yet again. However I managed to fool Ellis for most of the day, though around lunch he began to realize I wasn't feeling well. You know its a bit annoying to be scolded like a child when you're the same age, but I know he only did it out of worry. I love him so much and he's so sweet to me, he jsut doesn't realize no matter what I am going to try to be out of bed all I can. Even now I'm sneaking around really, he's busy giving Leo a bath and has no clue I'm up doing a blog.

Oh crap I hear Leo singing his 'get dry' song, he always sings it when he gets out of the bathtub to dry off. I better run, I just hop Ellis won't give Leo ice cream again. No matter how good he's been, ice cream right before bed is not a good idea...

Resting

Oh my, I finally got out of bed.Well finally was allowed to get out of bed, Ellis worries about me a lot when I get sick considering it doesn't happen often. He told me he posted my blog for me, I was really confused about it until I got on a moment ago to find just what he meant. I didn't realize that Leo had gotten to my laptop when Ellis made me go to bed, sorry it may have been a bit confusing he's only four and the computer picks up how he talks oddly sometimes. Its cute watching him though, I wish I had been up to see it, I think he thinks people live in the computer. to read what we type.

Anyway, Ellis had me stay in bed most of the day so not a lot happened to me. However my wonderful husband and son took care of me all day, made me meals and brought them to me. I felt so special when thy were taking care of me, its definitely proof that they love me not that I didn't already have tons of proof! Anyway hopefully I'll have a more interesting thing to tell you tomorrow..or later today even, I haven't checked out much of the house yet so I have no clue what shape its in. I heard a lot of weird sounds earlier today coming from downstairs...I think Leo may have been in one of his little monster moods...

Playday

Today we decided against the plans that we had originally made, mainly because we got a call last night from Leo's new friend's mother about a play date. So we made plans to go back out to the park, and luckily we stuck to those plans. It was a relatively normal trip really, it seems the park is often pretty empty in the morning so when we met the friends it was nice and calm.

Restaurant Woes

Oh my, today was not the best day on this planet by any means. It was confusing, upsetting, and embarrassing all at the same time. We thought we would go out and have a nice meal, we even invited Damien to come with us but he wasn't really in the mood to be outside. So it was just Ellis, Leo and me when we went to a restaurant not too far from the house. We hadn't really heard anything about it, but we had seen a lot of people go into it so we figured it would be a safe place to eat. After all there was bound to be something good for us to eat!

Lucky for us we got to the restaurant when there wasn't a lot of people there, so we got a booth to sit in away from everyone else. We didn't want  Leo to randomly freak out over creatures he hadn't seen before, we didn't want him to be upset or the people to be embarrassed and/or upset about it. However we hadn't thought about who the waiter would be, though lucky for us it didn't seem to be a problem really. To put it simply, our waitress was a Neko Girl as the Japanese would put it. I think Leo has an attachment to animal like people, he seems perfectly fine with werewolves and cat people, its the random creatures that scare him the most. She gave our menus to us, while I tried to convince Leo not to pet 'the pretty kitty' as he kept saying anytime he saw her. I think our waitress took it as a childish flirting and would just give smiles and gently flirt with him, but I knew it wasn't that. I knew it was just his love for animals and thinking anyone who had animal traits was an animal. Though really I'm not sure where he gets that ideas, considering he has wings like a bird would have and he doesn't expect to be treated like an animal. Except when he's playing but that is a completely different subject.

Anyway, I don't know why we didn't ask the nice waitress about the kind of food served there. I guess it just didn't come to mind, and the fact the menu was full of images to help us pick out what looked good. After looking at the menu for a little bit we decided on some things that we thought would be safe for us to have. For Ellis and Me, it was a hamburger and fries while for Leo it was chicken nuggets and apple slices. Once we had put in our order we relaxed a bit talking about things we could do over the next few days, we had found a few brochures for local museums outside the restaurant so we're trying to get Leo interested in them. You know its amazing how much persuading it takes to interest a child at times, even when the museum you want to take them to is a child museum. Our talking though distracted Leo for a while at least, long enough that he didn't freak out when the booths and tables around us started to fill up. However he did freak out suddenly towards the end of the conversation, screaming out "GHOSTIE HEAD MOMMY! MAKE IT GO AWAY!" and pointing next to me. The sudden screaming had everyone's attention, especially mine making me jump and look to where he was pointing. All of that happened in just a second, at the same time there was a squeak and what seemed to be a disappearing head.  A few seconds later a young woman looked over the edge of the booth, "I'm sorry...my son was just curious and stuck his head where it didn't belong.." I was already red from having what seemed to be every eye in the restaurant us, and it took me a moment to figure out what exactly had just happened. After a slight pause I had managed to tell the woman it was alright and explained we were new to the planet, I then had to explain to Leo once again that it was okay and that the ghost people on this planet were nice people. That it was just a young curious boy, just like he was. That of course got Leo curious again, and it wasn't long before he was standing on the booth seat next to me talking to the boy. As much as I didn't want him standing up like that, I didn't want to stop him from making a friend so instead I just made sure he didn't fall from his place.

After a while though our food came, and I got Leo to sit down to eat. I had already exchanged information with the woman though, so hopefully we'll get to see the family again so Leo can have play dates. Once Leo was settled back down we decided to start eating, though it wasn't long before Leo was spitting his chicken nuggets back out. He was complaining to me that they tasted weird, and truth was his wasn't the only food that tasted weird. Ellis and I had both taken bites of our hamburgers but hadn't taken anymore. I told Leo if he didn't like his nuggets he wouldn't have to eat this time, but he kept insisting I tried them too. I think he wanted to make sure they were yucky before he gave up on them. So after quite a bit of insisting, I ended up trying one of his nuggets and almost spat it back out too. The hamburgers didn't taste good, but the nuggets were the most disgusting thing I had ever had.  We tried the rest of the food, avoiding the main parts of our meals. The french fries were okay, they are a lot like Earth's but they did have a slight change to them and Leo's apples were okay to. When the waitress came back over, I had to ask her what exactly we had ordered. She was confused but luckily she patiently explained to us that Ellis and I had gotten 'hamburgers' which are literally made from an animal that like a cross of a pig and a cow. The odd taste with it made more sense now, and also really the fact they are called 'hamburgers' really makes sense now. However what Leo had gotten was really chicken nuggets..well...not really..it was more of Rooster...nuggets...I'll let you imagine where exactly those came from, all I know is I'm never getting chicken nuggets again on this planet!

Today was an adventure and a half to say the least, when we got home I ended up making us lunch and we all enjoyed it with Damien downstairs. Luckily Damien told us some food to look out for, he hadn't realized that we wouldn't know the food here. Hopefully we can avoid problems like this in the future, anyway I'm going to go to bed now. We have a long day planned out for tomorrow, hopefully we'll be able to do it.

Explanations

Oh today wasn't very eventful really, there isn't a lot to talk about. Most of the day was spent explaining things to Leo and to help him learn more about the people on this planet. We had to explain to him that just because people look different doesn't make them bad, just makes them different. That took up most of the day though we did talk to Damien more and ended up introducing Leo to him.

However we got to talking to Damien about who he is, well far as what kind of creature he is. Across the universe people have a fear of the dark, on Earth its called irrational but really its not. There are all sorts of creatures that live in the dark, some nice and some not so nice ones. One of the kinds of creatures that live in the darkness and shadows are the Shadow People, which Damien is a part of. For the most part they are peaceful race, as with most races there are the bad eggs mixed in. One of the bad eggs is the one who took away Damien's home and wife, she was murdered in front of his very eyes with him retrained from helping. I can't imagine the kind of pain and guilt I know he feels over the whole experience. I haven't asked him much about it yet,  its obvious its a painful memory and its not one I want to bring up too much.

Anyway that's about it for today, sorry its such a short entry. Not much had happened except for talking, though that in itself can be an adventure sometimes!

Well that was unexpected...

Today I was gathering up the laundry to do, not my favorite task but it had to be done, when Leo suddenly came up to me in a panic. He kept going on and on about how the basement had a monster, and considering that's where our washer and dryer was he didn't want me going down there. I thought it was just a random tactic to get me to play with him, so I finished putting the clothes in the basket and played with him a while. He ended up falling asleep though, and once I had him in bed I grabbed the laundry basket to head downstairs. I managed to get down there though without any interruptions, though I regretted that when I got there.

You know you always hear these stories for little kids about monsters being in the basement, to try and keep them from wandering where they could get hurt. I think only here that could actually be true, except the guy wasn't a monster..well..not really...As I was standing at the foot of the stairs I noticed a figure in the shadows standing up slowly before moving towards the light some. He wasn't human, of course there aren't really any humans on this planet so that was a bit obvious really. The man had bright silver eyes and skin black as the night, it looked like he was a living shadow actually with bright eyes and very old clothing. The way the man moved it was like he was very tired, whether it was physically or emotionally was hard to tell. I think really it was a mixture of both, considering what he said..

"Hello ma'am..I'm sorry to intrude, I didn't realize this house was occupied until last night.I've been moving from empty house to empty house, sticking to the basements to be out of anybody's way.." His voice was gentle but weary, truth was he reminded me a lot of how my Dad sounded at times which just made me want to hug him.

"It's alright, but why are you here?" I had to ask, I know now it probably should have been obvious but I was too shocked to realize it.

"Well ma'am, I'm homeless. Lost my home many years ago along with my wife. I've never really gotten back on my feet, I don't think I've ever found the strength to move on again. I'll be leaving later today though ma'am, I do not want to be a bother." He said quietly pain filling his eyes at the memory of his wife I assume. He looked so sad though, and it hurt to see him like that. I know its a bit silly but I have this habit of getting attached to people easily, I feel for them and want things to better for them.  So I said softly, "Don't worry about it..why don't you stay the night here? I need to talk to my husband about a few things real quick."  Before he had a chance to respond though I was up the stairs and finding Ellis, I needed to ask his permission about things first. I told him about what happened and how I felt about the man, he knew I typically have a good judgement of people getting attached to the misfits like our family had been made of..It took a bit of talking to him, but finally we agreed and both headed back downstairs.

The man was relaxing again, but immediately stood up to greet us. By the way he was acting, I had a feeling he thought he would get yelled at or thrown out immediately if not both. I stayed close to my husband though as I said softly, "You like our basement don't you?"

"Well..yes ma'am..its nice and doesn't have insulation problems like many I have seen lately.." he responded a bit confused.

"Then why don't you live here? We can bring you meals and such..its a big home after all, and when we get use to each other if you want to move to a bedroom upstairs we can see about doing that.." I didn't want to be rude, but I did have my sons safety to think about after all. The man looked bewildered at the offer, then almost seemed to tear up before saying, "Thank you..Thank you ma'am..I would like to stay down here..its pleasant and darker..I feel more comfortable in darker areas..thank you..I will do anything I can to help you, please let me help." Ellis and I got a few chairs and brought them downstairs so we could all talk comfortably, working out a living arrangement that was fair and still safe for all of us. During our talks we found out our new friend's name was Damien, and that he was 42 years old exactly. We found out other random things about him, but I'm not sure how much he would feel comfortable having me say on here. I'll ask him about it when I bring his supper down to him.

I believe I hear Leo waking up though, I have to explain to him about who Damien is and such. It should be interesting, we finally got him understanding that the 'monsters' on this planet are different from what we are use to but they can still be nice. Things will be okay though, it just takes time sometimes..

Park Adventures

I believe I forgot to mention yesterday how we had to try and get Leo to stop begging to go to a park we passed on the way to the store. It was a long busy day, we didn't have time to go to it so we sadly had to tell him no. Though he was creative today, I swear he's a morning person to the extreme considering he came into our room at six in the morning and sat on our bed staring at Ellis and Me. When Ellis finally woke up, after I poked him a million times that is, he got Leo to at least give us time to wake up fully. I think Leo knows us way to well though, he knows our guards are down when we are still sleepy and are easier to persuade to his will then. So during breakfast, which was yummy pancakes, Leo got onto us again begging and begging to go to the park. It wasn't long before we were giving in and packing stuff up to go out to the park and have a picnic for lunch.

After we found the park again, which admittedly took a while longer then it should have, we parked near the playground. Lucky for us Leo was perfectly still when we went to unbuckle him from the carseat, of course that was because he wanted to take off as soon as he was free. We should have known he would, but still I had to chase him down while Ellis got the picnic basket out. I think Leo expected me to chase him though, he went straight to the swingset getting on saying 'Mommy push me pease!' yes he said 'pease' it was so adorable. I'm a bit of a sucker when it comes to his adorable moments, its hard for me to tell him no no matter what he's asking for. So I went to push him and told him to not run out of the car again, he seemed to understand at least. The park was pretty empty at first, though that didn't matter to Leo he enjoyed dragging me and Ellis around to different things to play. Leo was fascinated by the sandbox though, and I admit I was too considering it wasn't the usual tan that's back on Earth. Instead the sand was a fine sea green sand, it looked harder to play with than the courser sand on Earth would be but I don't think Leo noticed a difference. Gotta love the focus of a young child, it only focuses on whats important the colors and how fun something is.

After a while we had an early lunch though, laying out on a blanket to eat the picnic we have brought. I don't know how we got Leo to settle down enough to eat, but we managed it and I think he's glad we did. After lunch he ended up falling asleep on the blanket, but we didn't have the heart to move him yet we knew he wanted to play in the park a bit more. Though it was a good thing we hadn't moved him, his nap was very short because he hear music. Well not so much as because he heard music, but because it was music that was a universal sign of 'ice cream' . I never thought we would hear 'The Entertainer' anywhere other then on Earth, but it looks like this planet uses at least some Earth tunes for their ice cream trucks. Leo, being like most kids, wanted ice cream right away even though he just ate his lunch. It was impossible to say no to him, mainly because I wanted ice cream too and I didn't want to eat it in front of him that would just be mean! So I gave in and said yes, which I swear immediately gave Leo super strength considering how easily he was able to drag me up and to the ice cream truck. Some kids had appeared out of seemingly no where, creating a bit of a line to wait in but that was okay. I was busy looking over the images on the side of the truck, to try and pick out what would be close enough to Earth's flavors, when I suddenly felt a tug on my hand. Looking down I saw Leo looking up with wide, frightened eyes, whispering, "Mommy, its a ghostie..." I was confused at first, looking to the kids to see if he meant one of them. While I was looking at them though I noticed something..odd at the front of the line. The opening was too high for kids to reach as usual, but that wasn't really a problem at the moment. The man serving the ice cream was reaching through the truck's wall to give the ice cream at a height the child could reach it. As frightening as that was at first, I couldn't get over the sweetness of the act, after all it didn't make the children feel small like many do when they try to reach for ice cream out of a truck. However, Leo wasn't seeing things like that instead he was trying to tug me away. No matter what I said, I couldn't convince him that things were okay. So our trip to the park was cut short, and we didn't get any ice cream today.

Maybe next time we go to the park he'll be better about things. Its about time to get him up from his nap, so I'm going to try and help him understand about the kinds of people here more. I just hope I can, I don't want him to be scared of his new home..

THAT'S NOT A PUPPY!

Today was an adventure to say the least! Ellis and I decided it would be a good day to do a bit of exploring in town, we needed to get groceries after all. So we bundled Leo up and got him in the car, which that alone is an adventure in itself. We've done it before with the SUV back home, but still strapping a four year old into a car is like wrestling with a snake! Except he doesn't bite, luckily he's past that stage. Also luckily, with it being a new town we didn't get a lot of 'are we there yet' because he was too interested in staring at all the places we were passing. Well really we were all busy staring, which is why we missed the store's turn a couple times, but like they say third time's a charm!

When we got Leo unbuckled in the car we had to chase him down before he got in the store, he usually sticks close to us but I guess the chance to have an adventure was too strong for him to resist.  Since he was being so squirmy and deciding to run off randomly, we had a feeling it would be safest to keep him in the cart so he couldn't escape us randomly. When we went in, we were a bit shocked at what we saw, I don't know what we were expecting but it looked just like a regular grocery store back on Earth. The only different really was aisles were wider to account for different people, and the items they had in stock of course was different. Lucky for us many of the items had references on it to what other planets carried, and we had a list from our parents of what kind of foods to look for along with a list of what to avoid.  So, with Ellis pushing the cart and Leo staring at everything, we headed through all the aisles picking out items to get for the house.

At one point we were looking at was basically a 'sweets' aisle that was filled with hundreds of cookies and such items, the mere selection we had was daunting and we were having to look at the packages carefully. I'm still wondering why they couldn't just have a 'chocolate chip cookie' with obvious packaging, it would make shopping so much easier..Anyway, while Ellis and I were looking  at different p ackages trying to find a good sweet snack to get, we heard Leo suddenly say "Puppy!" I hadn't seen any dogs when we went down the aisle, but we had been there quite a while so I looked up curiously to see what got him excited.  I couldn't believe what I saw! Now let me give you a quick bit of a background on my life, I've seen werewolves on Earth, but they are nothing like the creatures in the myths. These werewolves are just humans with wolf ears that can transform into a wolf at will, nothing like the howling-at-the full-moon  half human half hounds people usually talk about. What I saw today however was nothing like the werewolves I had seen back home. This was more like what people talk about, being all furry and looking a lot like a half dog half human. The creature's back had been towards Leo as he looked at a shelf, but when Leo started petting him he turned around. His eyes were bright yellow and he was just raising an eyebrow as his shirtless chest was petted by the young child, luckily though he didn't seem to be violent at the time at least. I immediately moved forward and tried to stop Leo from petting him, at the same time apologizing and explaining to him how we were new to the planet and hadn't met anyone like him yet.  I can't explain to you the amount of relief that filled me when the man just smiled and said it was okay, lucky for or maybe for us he hadn't met an Ayahn yet and was just as curious about us as Leo was about him. We talked for a bit and he showed us what kind of cookies Leo would like, he also told us about some places in town to check out and gave us a number in case we needed help.

The rest of the trip was rather uneventful, well not really, but it was compared to seeing Leo pet a werewolf man! I'm just glad he was a nice and understanding man, it seems we have made out first friend here. I just hope its the first of many, the more friends we have the more protected we will be if people come looking for us here. Anyway that's about it for today, I have to get started on lunch now Leo's tummy monster is growling!

Still Adjusting

We're still adjusting to this new world and the way it looks. The lavender skies are so beautiful, but I do miss the blues of Earth.  Still, we have a nice home here with plenty of room for our son Leo to play to his hearts content, which he has been doing often of course with his new puppy. We're trying to make this into our new home as quickly as possible,  I want the change to be easier on Leo. He seems to be taking it all alright, he loves being able to play out in the yard with his wings out which he never could do back home. Its nice not having to hide what we are from everyone else, its doubtful we'll ever hide again until we go back home to Earth..if we go back home...

You know I was looking over my blog from yesterday and I realized it was probably pretty confusing when I was saying 'home'. Thats a confusing situation in itself, see the home with the selfish people I was talking about was my home planet. I come from the planet Aya, and I am an Ayahn myself of course, though I haven't lived on Aya for many years. When I was four years old I ran away from the hospital where I was held prisoner, and managed to get to Earth with a bit of help from some nice humans. They took me in right away on Earth and I consider that my home now, I hadn't even thought about the planet for years until my son came into my life. He's not my son by blood, though he looks enough like me many people think he really is even though he's not related at all. We adopted him when we saved him from a cruel 'haunted house' on Earth that held him prisoner as a 'freak'. Once we got him out of there we got the place shut down, we didn't want them finding other aliens in hiding on Earth and using them too. My son had lived on Aya before and was held prisoner in the same hospital I had escaped from. Between him coming from there and the fact they are looking for us again, my home planet has come up a lot lately in conversation.

That though is a topic that can be hard to talk about, so I'll save telling you about that for later. There hasn't been a lot going on in the house so far, we are unpacked and have been exploring and decorating when we weren't playing with our son Leo. We haven't checked out the neighbors yet, truth is we are kind of scared to find out who we are living around. People here are different, I don't believe there are any humans which isn't so bad we were use to being around aliens before, but the people here are different then what we are use to. We're sure they are nice, we just...well we just have to work up the courage to talk to them really. This is such a new experience, we usually live within a rather big protective family, with it just being the three of us we're kind of jumpy now.

Anyway, I think I hear Leo getting up from his nap so I may go make cookies with him now. Oh and just in case you are interested and want to learn more about us, I've made a 'Facebook page' . I'll be posting on it when I have a new blog up, along with random pictures of our new home which includes the cover image of the Facebook page.  You can post questions on the Facebook page and I'll either try to answer them there or in the blog.

Hello World

Hello world? Really? I guess it is a fitting title since we just moved to this planet. Its an interesting home really, well I wouldn't say home, but its close enough to being a home.  I don't hide here, well I do partially but not as much as I did back on Earth. Back on Earth I rarely showed my wings to anyone, only the people who lived in my home the rest of the time I was just part of the crowd. I went to a regular highschool, I was in choir and cheer leading even at one point. I had friends and went to the zoo with my family randomly, I did everything other teenagers do. In fact no one other then my family really knew I was an alien on that planet, I was able to hide in plain site as many aliens do.

That is beside the point though, I have a new home and should forget of my old one. Its no longer safe there, if I stayed on Earth the vampires would find me and take me away. I don't want to go home, my planet is a terrible place with cruel people who take advantage of people. I can't let those vampires find me, but they are far away and in another time even, I doubt they will ever find me here.

Oh I must go now, my son is calling from his room. I think he's needing company, he's having a hard time adjusting to our new home..
